QueryTool

The QueryTool is a web application bundle with PyWrapper to help data providers to create their own web interface to their database. This application is only able to query one database at once so is not intendeed to be use for people creating portals that wants to do distributed queris among several data providers.

The first version of the QueryTool was available in the BioCASe Provider Software 1.5 and it was quite simple. In the next versions the templating system was improved and the use of XSLT was extended for adaptability. The latest version of the QueryTool could also query Digir 1.5 providers and was used temporarily in the Syntheys project.

The next QueryTool that will be bundle with PyWrapper will use AJAX technology and many funcionalities of the new TAPIR protocol. When WFS support gets ready also we will be able to integrate mapping solutions with it. If you are interested in helping on the development of this tool please check the Contribute section.
